Splice Angle Note from Israel

I got a good tip on bending the two HS splice angles from a friend in Israel. Here are his comments...

"One thing I guess I can contribute so far for your readers. For greater accuracy I bent the two splice angles of the HS Forward Spar not one by one but both at the same time. Clecoed them onto a long piece of scrap wood, aligning CL's carefully and leaving the ends to be bent hanging out. Then clamped those in a large vice, using two large metal blocks to gain depth. The long wood gave me a lot of leverage and accuracy. Figured out (tangent 6 degr.) how much to displace the end of the 3 foot rod (actually it was 1 meter, hehehe) and BINGO, right on the mark, both pieces identical. Repeated the procedure on the other end."

Best regards,
